The British Home is a registered charity that depends on donations from the public, from charitable trusts, from companies and other organisations.
Providing high quality 24-hour nursing care and all the facilities our residents need is very expensive. We have to buy and maintain basic equipment such as:
We have to maintain and improve our 100 year-old building and keep it freshly decorated and well furnished just like any home. This too is very costly.
You can make a single donation by download a form here and sending it to us by post. Making regular donations is an even more valuable gift. If you want to donate regularly please download a standing order form here, fill it in and send it to us.
If you are a UK taxpayer you can increase the value of your donation at no additional cost by ticking the Gift Aid box which allows us to claim back tax on your donation.
Alternatively, you can make a donation online through the Charity Choice website
Payroll giving is the easiest way to support The British Home. Your monthly pledge is taken directly from your pre-tax pay and is therefore completely tax-free. So, for example, if you make a monthly donation of £10 this will only cost you £7.80 if you are a standard rate taxpayer and £6 if you are a higher rate taxpayer. All you have to do is ask your payroll department if they operate this scheme and if so they will give you a form to complete. If not, ask them to set one up by calling the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) on 01732 520000 or faxing them on 01732 520001. They will be happy to help.
Help us to raise the money we need by getting your group or organisation involved.
