British Home’s elegant concert hall was the venue chosen to host a Saturday double-bill of classic contemporary animation: the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse and the Oscar-nominated The Breadwinner.
The Streatham Free Film Festival is an annual event that takes over local spaces to put on free showings of a diverse programme of films.
Attendees at British Home had their appetites sated by a stall of cakes made and sold by volunteer Karen Buffin. In total around 70 people attended the showings and over £80 was raised in donations and cake sales.
Paul Perkin, Chief Executive of British Home, said, “British Home is a part of the community here in Streatham and we are always excited to welcome the Streatham Free Film Festival. We are already looking forward to next year’s films.”
