Rising to the challenge: Director of Care Keith takes on Beachy Head for British Home

British Home’s Director of Care, Keith Crowhurst, is taking on one of England’s toughest races: the Beachy Head Marathon.

The Beach Head Marathon is one the biggest off-road marathons in the UK. It is a beautiful but challenging route, as the runners will make their way through South Down National Park.

Amazingly, this is Keith’s eleventh marathon. After running his first half marathon twenty years ago and really enjoying the experience, he stepped up to the full distance. “Whenever my training routine falls away, rather than joining a club or a local park run scene I always end up booking another Marathon, each one being my last”.

We are really pleased that Keith is running in aid of British Home, to help raise funds for much needed equipment. When asking Keith why he has decided to run for British Home, he said, “Since starting at the British Home I’ve always been impressed at the spirit and attitude of the residents who live here, who often, despite facing extreme challenges every day, face life with a smile and determination to make the most of each day. I truly believe that the work done here deserves recognition and support. I am really pleased that my run can support our work”.

The Beachy Head Marathon is taking place on October 26th. Check back in after then for an update and some pictures of how Keith did.
