For people living with neuro-disability

Family and Carer Support

British Home is more than just our residents. For every individual living with neuro-disability, there are a significant number of other people affected. Some friends and family will be getting used to a loved one living away from home whereas others may have to take control of a person's life through a Power of Attorney. Our support is available to everyone involved.

Resident in room

We hold regular forums for family, friends and carers to speak directly with members of the care team and British Home management so that they can speak directly about any questions or concerns they have about the care and other activities offered at the Home. A growing number of social events such as quiz nights offer an opportunity for informal get togethers with other residents' friends and family, and we have a wide range of volunteer-led activities that are open to friends and family as well as to residents.

We also offer formal support to family and carers who need help navigating services, benefits or the law. This may be through direct advice that we are able to give or, more likely, by signposting on to local and national organisation who can offer informed guidance.
