Residential Care

We understand that British Home is more than just a building, it is the place where our residents live.

Activities team with a resident

British Home offers spacious, individual accommodation that can be tailored to the individual tastes of each resident. Spread over three floors, our rooms are light and airy. We are able to position hoists and wheelchairs in each room, as appropriate, to ensure that every resident can be as mobile and independent as possible. All residents receive nursing care twenty-fours a day under the supervision of a team leader for their specific area.

Alongside the individual accommodation, there are a number of more social settings. There are several dining rooms where residents who wish can enjoy their meals, as well as a kitchen adapted for use by people with physical disabilities. Residents are also able to enjoy the facilities of a coffee lounge on the Ground Floor, and are supported to participate in activities across the Home, in particular in our large recreation room. Thanks to our location, we offer a programme of excursions (with appropriate levels of care support) and for our residents that our able to access such facilities, the shops and public transport of Crown Point are close at hand.

The pastoral needs of residents are met through formal and informal support, and several local churches offer services in our chapel space (itself a listed building). In addition, there are regular events which residents can access held by local community groups in our concert hall space.
